I LOVE Halloween! Part of it is the fun. Part of it is that October is over and I’m still alive and my current lover hasn’t left me and no one close to be has died (or been really ill). I’ve had a bad history with the month of October. One boyfriend left me…in October…on Friday the 13th!. One boyfriend was arrested for domestic violence on Oct. 3 (that was just like a break up, but the police helped). One boyfriend just stopped calling me after October (Um…I’m married to him now, so he did call back…about 3 years later). My mom died on October 5. My Grandad died on October 1 (and it was nearly a relief just to have the death that year get over quickly into the month). I was a nervous wreck to be pregnant and due with kid #2 in October, but that turned out fine.
And then there was that thing with my boy. That was in October. But that didn’t end in death or even police involvement. I wish I could say that I am no longer afraid of October, but that would be a lie.
So, if I make it to the end I will be dressed up in my scariest, "Fuck You, Death!" costume and eat candy until I wanna puke!
