Say NO to Bullies
Here’s a little bit more voting advice:
Do NOT vote for bullies!
That includes Joe Arpaio, Andrew Thomas, or John McCain.
That means:
DO VOTE FOR:
- Dan Saban for Maricopa County Sheriff
- Tim Nelson for County Attorney
- Barrack Obama for President
I think you must already know why I consider "Sheriff Joe" a bully. Every time I see him on TV he is not just doing what he considers to be his job (I get upholding the laws), but he does it in such shameful ways. He ends up yelling at other community leaders (mayors and such), putting down reporters and news sources that asks him questions about his tactics (did you see the commercial where he was telling people to throw away their newspapers because they were nothing but garbage?). He harasses and arrests people by finding something to charge them with because they have had the nerve to dislike or even just report on his policies (New Times staff–charges later dropped–and people who legally protest some of Arpaio’s immigration policies).
And Andrew Thomas? Well, he’s a supporter of Arpaio and that’s enough for me to be leary of him. Plus, it is my understanding that because of his desire to waste time and resources on crimes related to immigration status he is not putting enough energy on crimes like domestic violence, child abuse, etc.
And McCain. Well…after reading an article in the New Times about what John McCain did to bully Rose Mofford I was reminded of all of the other stories I’ve heard about him regarding his temper. In recent times he has looked weak and feeble, but I still think that underneath that is an angry person that I do not want leading this country. (For the abridged version of the story about John & Rose go here, but for the full article that the abridged version is talking about go here.)
We need to send a message to the people that we vote into office that if they start getting all mean, nasty, and start to abuse their powers over others we will not keep them as our leaders.
